The objective of this session is to demonstrate the new Red Cross Red Crescent Health Information System (RCHIS) application for use within Emergency Response Units (ERU). RCHIS combines the function of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and a Health Information System (HIS) to improve not only patient care but also to improve reporting and accountability to donors and operational partners.

This session will involve an online demonstration of RCHIS, where we will follow a patients’ journey through an ERU using RCHIS. Furthermore, we will also give an insight into the development process to get RCHIS from an idea on post-it notes to a functioning online application.
