Event Details

Presentation of RED Social Innovation (https://red-social-innovation.com/en/), an International Resource Centre for Social Innovation that promotes socially innovative solutions developed within and beyond the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, thereby fostering the exchange of good practices between different countries and National Societies!

After a 20-min presentation of the website, one 10-min Q&A session will be held followed by a 30-min ‘go around the table’ session so that participants can share their own innovative solutions that could be added to the platform.

For: Anyone interested in social innovation! But what exactly is social innovation? It could be defined as all solutions created to meet new or unmet needs. Up to the 1970s the concept of “social innovation” was closely associated with the development of new technologies. Since then its definition has evolved and it now refers to “acting differently” to serve the common good. All actors in society can be involved in social innovation, including the voluntary sector. By imagining new socio-economic models, creating new uses for technology or transforming the way we work, social innovation allows us to act in the most appropriate and efficient way possible to tackle all forms of vulnerability.
