Event Details

This is a presentation on operational epidemiology followed by a discussion on how to further advance these areas jointly with Movement partners.
Data is paramount in rationalizing and public health action, monitoring trends and detecting new health treats assessing the impact of interventions and systematically inform partners within and outside the movement. Increasingly we see the importance of public health surveillance including routine monitoring trends in field clinics as well as in the deployment of interventions.
There is a differential of data sources available but at current there is not a dedicated operational epidemiology unit that serves as a Centrepoint within the RC movement to assist in gathering, analyzing and operational data from operations’ – In this session, we would like to have a discussion about the need for a more organized approach to health data making use of the different experts and initiatives already working on this subject within the Red Cross Movement and see how this can be further developed according to working models within other organizations.
Presenter: Amrish Baidjoe, Public Health and CBS Team Leader, Norwegian Red Cross
