While transformation projects have value, we need to break the cycle of a focus on operations with projects to occasionally level up. To continue to meet the needs of people in crisis we must continually evolve, ensuring we stay relevant and efficient in our work. This genuine transformation towards being an agile organisation involves moving from ‘project’ to ‘product’. This means empowered teams with clear outcomes, who continually evolve our offer based on real time insights. Whilst this is common practice in other sectors, for us this is nothing shy of a revolutionary new operating model and way of working. We’re keen to share our experience of how the British Red Cross has transformed the community education team and the huge benefits this has delivered (spoiler: reduced costs, increased impact).
