How can we use data to improve the capacity of communities to respond to disasters and emergencies? To what extent is social media data useful for humanitarian programming? This roundtable brings together practitioners and researchers from Australian and Netherlands Red Cross societies to discuss how they’re approaching these issues, some use cases in domestic and international contexts, and what challenges need to be addressed to ensure responsible, ethical and inclusive uses of data for humanitarian action.
