EN (ES más abajo): The objective of the session will be to share the learnings coming from the experience developed by the Ecuadorian Red Cross (ERC) to support the Cash Transfer Program (CTP) using a WhatsApp line in COVID-19 context.
Since 2019 ERC is implementing a CTP program delivering cash in-person to overcome different challenges facing by migrant populations.
In May 2020, the program was adapted to deliver cash through cash machines using a code instead of a card. To support this process and assure migrants were well informed about the process to be followed, respond to their questions, doubts, and complaints, a WhatsApp line was implemented as a feedback and two- way communication mechanism. The line allowed to keep the dialogue with more than 300 migrants – mostly women – assuring their understanding about the process and solve any difficulty.  At the end of the process, migrants solved a short satisfaction survey, and they were thankful not just for the money received also for the accompaniment through the line.  

At the end of the session participants will: 
* Recognize the conditions required to implement a WhatsApp line as a feedback mechanism for Cash Transfer Programs for migrant population and key implementation steps. 
* Identify the benefits of implementing WhatsApp line in COVID-19 context to assure migrants´ voices are heard and keep dialogues to support them. 
* Learn about the lessons learned coming from the implementation experience.

This session is for CEA practitioners but also for staff and volunteers of the NSs working in programmes and emergency operations.

ES: El objetivo de esta sesión es compartir los aprendizajes del experimiento de la Cruz Roja Ecuatoriana y de la Cruz Roja Peruana que utilizaron WhatsApp for business como mecanismo de retroalimentación para migrantes durante la COVID-19. Las SNs querian asegurarse de que los migrantes recibieran información vital, que pudiesen hacer preguntas, expresar dudas y quejas. Con el apoyo de la FICR, decidieron implementar WhatsApp como linea de retroalimentacion y de comunicacion bidireccional. Permitió mantener el diálogo con migrantes (principalemente mujeres) y la población general. La Cruz Roja Ecuatoriana también implemento un ChatBot para diversificar los servicios brindados por la linea.

Esta sesión es para practicantes de CEA pero también para empleados y voluntarios de las SNs trabajando en programas y operaciones de emergencia.
